After the Japanese occupation of Dutch East Indies, Dutch soldiers used to send postcards for X-mas and New Year to Holland. Very often special military X-mas postcards were used and there exist a wide variety of those, which are worth to be collected and collectors do collect them.
The majority have common Veldpost postmarks, but sometimes other (military) postmarks can be found.
This card is tied with a violet rubber postmark of the Marine Post Office in Soerabaja with two anchors.
Bulterman doesn’t mention this postmark and the list by Hans R. Holdijk knows a similar one, but this one has a wider space between Marine and Postkantoor.
