door Since February first, Dutch postal operator PostNL is again monopolist on the Dutch postal market. In late 2019 PostNL obtained all shares of the second largest postal operator named Sandd and since February 1st Sandd has been integrated into PostNL, ceding operations.
In Belgium too there used to be a second postal operator: TBC-Post. This company, 35 years old, got a license in 2013 to deliver daily mail. In December 2019 it went bankrupt. It was a small player in the Belgian market, but delivered nationwide. Now bpost is monopolist again. TBC-Post also issued its own stamps and even maximum cards.
